There is more than one source for eBooks and Audiobooks through Babcock Library!

In addition to Libby/Overdrive is …

PALACE PROJECT

The Palace Project has both eBooks and Audiobooks available for users of Android and iOS (iPhones) smartphones and tablets.

How to use this? Visit the App Store or Google Play from your smartphone and/or tablet and download the app.

You can use both Libby/Overdrive and Palace Project. The overall number of items you may borrow is the same, but the selections are not exactly the same between the two sources. Also when the book you are interested in is not available with Libby/Overdrive you may be able to find it with Palace Project!

Device Compatibility

Android

The Palace App can be installed on phones and tablets running Android 7.0+.

iOS

The Palace App can be installed on phones and tablets running iOS 15+.

Apple CarPlay

Apple CarPlay has limited functionality at this time. Audiobooks will play via built-in iOS player. A user can play/pause audiobooks from the car’s screen only.

Android Auto

Android Auto has limited functionality at this time. Audiobooks will play via car speakers and phone controls only.

Bluetooth Speakers

Audiobooks will play via Bluetooth connections and aux cables.

Not Compatible

The devices and operating systems listed below will not work with the Palace app.

  • Nook HD/HX+, Nook Tablet, Nook Color
  • Older Kindle Fire phones and tablets, Kindle Paperwhite
  • Kobo e-readers
  • Chromebooks
