Beginning Sewing Session 4 of 4
Visit Babcock Library to learn introductory sewing skills!
Over the course of four sessions, participants will learn about, and practice, basic sewing techniques.
Topics and Activities:

The different types of fabric and what’s important to know about the differences

Using an electric sewing machine straight stitch

Basic sewing rules to maximize getting the best outcome

Make a simple sachel
Fabric and machines* are provided by the instructor
*machines for use IN the Library
Who this class is for:

Individuals with little to no sewing experience

Limited to four participants ages 12+
Dates: Four consecutive Fridays 10 am – 12 noon

Yankee Swap is a game similar to a white elephant gift exchange. Guests draw numbers and take turns choosing a gift from a pile. ![]()

Babcock Library will have many books for the event - all wrapped up so you won't know what you're selecting until it is opened! ![]()

Participants also may bring wrapped books to include in the game (new or excellent-condition used books).![]()
