The Babcock Library is dedicated to providing a welcoming environment that encourages children of all ages to use and enjoy the library, collections, computers and programs offered.

Library staff is available to assist and support children in using the Library.

Brief visits, such as to pick up books from the library circulation desk, are permissible.

As a public institution, open to many people, Library staff cannot guarantee the safety of children who are left unattended in library premises. Library staff do not serve in the place of a parent.

Parents/guardians/caregivers or older family members over the age of 12 are responsible for the safety and behavior of their children/siblings.

At all times, parents/guardians/caregivers or older family members are asked to remain in the immediate vicinity of their children/siblings using the library and maintain eye contact.

Library staff will try to contact the parents/guardians/caregivers of the child if they are asked to leave or if the child is unattended at closing. If no one can be contacted or found Library staff will contact the State Police.

Please contact the Babcock Library Director, Ann Harper (director@babcocklibrary.org) with any questions or concerns.
