Pumpkin Decorating Contest

Bring in your book themed decorated pumpkin anytime during the week of October 15th – October 19th. Pumpkins will be judged on Saturday, October 20th at 12:30 pm.  Winner will be announced on our Facebook page and in the library.  No carved pumpkins will be allowed. Open to all ages

Scarecrow Contest

Bring in your Scarecrow during the week of October 15th through October 19th . Scarecrows must be free standing, we will not provide props to stand the scarecrow up.  Come vote Saturday, October 20th from 9 am to 12 noon.  Open to all ages.

Largest Sunflower Head Contest

Bring in your largest sunflower head, anytime during the week of October 15th through October 19th!  We will measure your sunflower head; if your sunflower head is the biggest of all the entries, you will be declared the winner.  Winner will be announced at 12:30 pm on Saturday, October 20th.

Friends Book Sale

The Friends of Babcock Library will be holding their Annual Book Sale!

Come join us to make some poetry! We will use old newspapers and books and provide you with a giant Sharpie. Open to young adults and adults. Bring your creativity!

Creative Writing Club
Workshops on building and improving writing skills through games, revision of drafts and idea sharing.  For ages 12 and up (adults are welcome)

Mondays at 4:30pm

Young Adult and Adult Coloring

Come join us and relax and color some mandalas or designs of your choice. You can bring your own books or use ours. We will provide colored pencils and gel pens. Registration required.

Wednesday, October 24th  6:30 pm

Maker Monday

Stop by the library anytime on Monday and make the craft project for the week.  This is a self directed activity, usually for ages 4 to 8, although younger children may enjoy it with help from their adult companion.  Crafts are available throughout the week until they are gone!

Lego Club

We’ll supply the LEGOs, you bring your creativity! Build with other LEGO fans and then tear down your creations. Ages 5 and up.

 Saturdays at 10:00am


Come join us for games, stories and a craft, for ages 3 to 5 and their adult companions.  This program lasts about 45 minutes and registration is not required at this time.

Learn to play the Ukulele

Sue Way will instruct students on how to play and tune a Ukulele.  Participants must have a valid library card in good standing for this program.  Program is designed for participants 9 years old and up.  (Yes, adults are welcome!)

Registration is required.
