Affordable Care Act Information Sessions
Babacock Library is doing its part to help people in Ashford connect to affordable health insurance. During the open enrollment period in Connecticut, for coverage under the ACA, Nov. 1-Dec 15, 2019, the Babcock Library is taking steps to encourage enrollment in the ACA Health Insurance Marketplace. Stop by the library for more information. For assistance signing up please contact Melissa McDonough at the town hall.

Holiday Card Making Program
Come to the library from 10-1 and create holiday cards to pass on to your loved ones. Open to all ages!

Back by popular demand! Come to the library and create a beautiful Holiday wreath. Registration is required. Please bring scissors that may be used on plastic.

Planting a Rainbow
Come to the library and plant a Spring flower bulb which will grow throughout the remaining winter and flower in the Spring. All ages are welcome!
All day December 31st from 10 to 3
Come learn and discuss different cultures and worldviews and understanding people’s attitude towards different cultures. Cultural practices and cross-cultural skill will also be examined.
Part One of this event will consist of a PowerPoint presentation, interactive learning activities e.g. role plays etc., with opportunities for peer and facilitator feedback.
Part two of this event will be a follow-up with group discussion, drawing on content from Part One, a reading assignment distributed at the first session, and sharing from lived and professional experiences. The facilitator of this workshop will be Don Perry.
In September 2018, Donald graduated from JustLeadershipUSA at John Jay College of Criminal Justice of New York. Donald is the founder of Project Operation Change and is currently a consultant for the Behavioral Health Justice Initiative Navigator Trainings at UMASS Medical in Shrewsbury, MA.

The knitting club meets every Wednesday at 1:00 pm, everyone is always welcome whether you already know how to knit or you want to learn. Come and join our knitting group.
Learn to Play the Ukulele
Sue Way will instruct students on how to play and tune a Ukulele. Participants must have a valid library card in good standing for this program. Program is designed for participants 9 years old and up. (Yes, adults are welcome!)Registration is required.

The Library now has a subscription to Overdrive for Babcock Library card holders! Overdrive offers e-books and audiobooks that you can access on your mobile devices. Bring your phone, iPad, tablet, Kindle, or NOOK to the library and we will teach you how to get started!
